STRENGTHS:
Ambitious: Most people, as they grow up, discard their fanciful dreams of impressive careers and settle on more down to Earth goals. David Xanatos has been described as a man who never had to do that. He doesn't believe in settling, and will constantly pursue new ways to increase his knowledge, skills, and resources.
Positive: David has a reputation for always coming out ahead, but the truth is that it's really a matter of perspective. He's always willing to accept a consolation prize, sees very little as worth getting genuinely angry about, and treats even what could be seen as unmitigated failure as a learning experience. Only when he genuinely causes a disaster where he can't consider the benefits to outweigh the costs does he show signs of distress, and it takes a direct threat to a loved one to evoke genuine anger.
Devoted: Be it a goal or a person, when David considers something important to him, he doesn't consider giving up to be an option. No matter how many times he fails to accomplish something, he'll dust himself off and try from a different angle. No matter what the risk, if someone important to him is in danger, he'll fight to protect them. This overrides even self-interest, as he'll take personal risks or sacrifice valuable resources without hesitation to protect someone he cares about.

This organization is more a web of contacts with a hierarchy of authority than any sort of focused group, and members can and often do wind up at cross purposes due to everyone involved having their own personal goals. Still, it's a valuable resource for trading favors with other influential individuals, and showing proof of membership to another member will typically be a shortcut to gaining their respect and willingness to cooperate...as long as your request doesn't run counter to their own desires.
POWERS: David has no supernatural abilities, but his technological prowess pushes the edge of human potential. He's capable of (with some use of magical materials or runic components) designing functional humanoid robots and programming AI capable of passing the Turing Test, developing weaponized particle accelerators (dubbed proton canons), and building robotic exosuits that are combat practical, among other things.
